Mutoh America Announces Expansion on the Falcon Outdoor Printer

TEMPE, Ariz., April 6, 2004 - Mutoh America Inc., a worldwide leader and manufacturer of large format commercial inkjet printers, today announced that the Falcon Outdoor 46" printer has been widened and can now handle 48" media. The Falcon Outdoor 48" is a high-quality, outdoor inkjet. Its low cost and ease of use make it a perfect fit for the sign shop wishing to produce outdoor durable images on a tight budget.

"All Falcon Outdoor printers are based on the popular Falcon Plus indoor printer and as such, the 46" width was targeted at 44" media. However, now that the target is outdoor, transitioning to 48" media width adds much more value. The Falcon Outdoor 48" can now accommodate every popular adhesive back vinyl width from 12" to 48," said Guy Cipresso, Vice President / General Manager for Mutoh America.

The Falcon Outdoor uses the newly developed Eco-Solvent Plus^TM inks that do not require coated media, lamination or ventilation. The Eco-Solvent Plus^TM inks are not only UV durable, but offer the widest color gamut when compared to other inks in this class. Prints are UV and water resistant for up to three years outdoors. Lamination is recommended for applications that require abrasion resistance.

The Falcon Outdoor offers 360, 720 and 1440 dpi printing using drop-on-demand piezoelectric inkjet print heads. The Falcon Outdoor is well suited for outdoor poster printing, banners, long-term backlit signage, building and construction announcements, vehicle graphics, durable indoor graphics, and POS displays. Every Falcon Outdoor includes Mutoh's ISIS Print Manager and Mutoh edition RIP Center software, as well as 1-year on-site warranty service.

The Falcon Outdoor 48-inch printer is priced at $15,995. Mutoh recommends bundling the Falcon Outdoor 48" with the Ultima 1400, a 48" vinyl cutter, to produce stunning outdoor durable print & cut graphics. Mutoh print and cut bundles start at $13,995.
