the Viper, Mutoh’s New Digital Transfer Printer
Mutoh
announces the addition of the Viper, a digital transfer
printer. The Viper provides dependable digital transfer
printing at print speeds up to 400 square feet per hour
and true image quality print resolutions up to 1440 dots
per inch (dpi). The Viper digital transfer printer was shown
for the first time at the SGIA ’04 Trade Show at the
Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“Mutoh
wanted to provide a printing solution for specialty markets
as a compliment to the banners and POP graphic markets,”
stated Mutoh America’s Director of Sales, Randy Rickert.
“The Viper was specifically designed for dye-sublimation
applications and provides an option for our customers looking
for a solution for their specialty printing needs.”
Tuned
media handling & accurate tracking for thin transfer
paper combined with Mutoh’s dye sublimation inks allow
the Viper the versatility for printing soft signage, sports
apparel, casino gaming tables, etc. The Viper is available
in widths of 64- and 87-inches and has a standard heavy-duty
feed and take-up system.
Mutoh
includes a set of starter ink, installation and one-year
on-site warranty service with all Viper models. The price
for the Viper is $39,995 for the 64-inch and $44,995 for
the 87-inch. The Viper is available for delivery in mid
November 2004.

Mutoh
America unveiled a number of new products at the 2004 SGIA
trade show in Minneapolis, Minnesota, October 6-9…
The
Viper DTS printer was the hit of the show, printing at speeds
up to 400 square feet per hour, producing vibrant images
for the mousepads that were an extremely popular giveaway.
Mutoh also introduced the Falcon II Outdoor Heavy Duty (HD)
printer.
The
Falcon II Outdoor Heavy Duty (HD) model accepts media roll
weights of up to 200 lbs. bringing more muscle to Mutoh’s
already strong line-up of high-performance, outdoor printers.
The
Toucan family had a new addition of the Toucan 2.6 meter
printer. The Toucan 2.6 meter provides dependable high volume
industrial print speeds up to 900 square feet per hour and
true image quality print resolutions up to 720 dots per
inch (dpi) for outdoor applications.

The Falcon II Outdoor Heavy Duty (HD) model accepts
media roll weights of up to 200 lbs. bringing more
muscle to Mutoh’s already strong line-up of
high-performance, outdoor printers.

HD because we believe the increased capacity for larger
rolls of media increases productivity to an unprecedented

Falcon
II Outdoor HD users can now take advantage of best-in-class
media handling for rolls of media up to 200 lbs. Current
Mutoh customers can also retrofit the motorized heavy-duty
feed and take-up system to their existing Falcon II
Outdoor printers. Mutoh’s extensive experience
with the Toucan commercial class printers has contributed
to the design of the HD’s media handling system
resulting in worry-free unattended printing, decreased
downtime changing roll media by purchasing longer
rolls which also results in a material cost savings.
The
Falcon II Outdoor HD priced at $31,995 is available
for immediate shipment. The optional heavy-duty media
handling system is priced at $4,995, plus installation.

the NEW Toucan
2.6 Meter Printer!
Mutoh
has announced the latest addition to its Toucan family of
Industrial printing systems with the introduction of the
Toucan 2.6 meter (102-inch) six-color ink jet printer. The
Toucan 2.6 meter provides dependable high volume industrial
print speeds up to 900 square feet per hour and true image
quality print resolutions up to 720 dots per inch (dpi)
for outdoor applications. Toucan industrial printers are
well suited to meet a production run of 256, 36-inch by
48-inch posters in an eight-hour shift, printing at 400
square feet per hour. The new Toucan 2.6 meter, six-color
printer was displayed for the first time at the SGIA ’04
Trade Show in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“The
Toucan 2.6m culminates all of Mutoh’s industrial printer
expertiseinto one mean printing machine,” stated Mutoh
America’s Vice President/General Manager, Guy Cipresso.
“The Toucan 2.6 is versatile
enough to provide photo-quality or billboard quality outdoor
durable images at best-in-class print speeds.”
The
Toucan 2.6 solvent-based printer produces CMYKlclm high
quality prints that are UV and water-resistant for up to
three-years in outdoor applications without lamination on
a wide variety of inexpensive, uncoated materials. The Toucan
2.6 supports a print width of 101-inches and a billboard
mode speed of 900 square feet per hour. Toucan ink costs
are well below 20 cents per square foot in production mode.
The
Toucan 2.6 incorporates an improved media handling system
with industry first variable force pressure rollers to accommodate
smooth media feeding of various thicknesses and textures
of roll media. Adjustable, on-the-fly stepping fine tunes
media feed in less time with greater accuracy for improved
image quality.
All
Toucan models are supported by the major software providers
for easy adaptation to any workflow.
Mutoh
includes a starter set of ink, installation and six-month
on-site warranty service with all Toucan models. The Toucan
2.6 six-color printer will begin shipments as early as December
2004 and has an estimated retail price of under $120,000.
