April Issue of Flying Colors Mutoh Eco-Solvent Plus Inks Expand Outdoor Flexibility Mutoh's all new Eco-Solvent Plus inks will be available in August. Formulated exclusively for the recently introduced Falcon II Outdoor Series commercial printers, the Eco-Solvent Plus inks will provide up to three years outdoor durability without lamination. The biggest advantage of the new Eco-Solvent Plus inks is they do not require specially coated media. This expands the printers' capabilities to include a variety of inexpensive uncoated media. The Falcon II Outdoor commercial printers will run both the Eco-Solvent and Eco-Solvent Plus inks, both are environmentally friendly and do not require the printer to be ventilated. The combined solution, including media, RIP, printer and ink has been perfectly balanced to deliver stunning results. ICC Profiles will be available for all ISIS Media (using ISIS Print Manager only) with the release of ISIS Print Manager 1.1, due out late May 2003. AdTech International, Atlanta GA Creates Big Impact With Toucan Barbara Renz is the operator of AdTech International's Toucan 64, industrial printing system. For the past year Barbara has been cranking out extremely large specialty print jobs for AdTech's clients which include the Georgia Dome, Cincinnati Reds Stadium and Coke, to name just a few. AdTech's applications include a high volume of large tri-image signs, outdoor billboards and stadium graphics. "We are very impressed with the speed of the Toucan, which unlike other printers, when there is nothing to print (white space), the Toucan head does not continue to move back and forth, doing nothing, while the media inches along. But rather, it advances the media directly to the next image area and continues printing - a real time saver in my book," said Barbara. "Other aspects of the Toucan we really like are the vibrant colors it produces, the ability to refill the bulk-ink reservoirs on-the-fly with out having to stop the print job and the fact that I can have the printer up and printing in five minutes in the morning, and at the end of the day, I can have it cleaned and shut down in five minutes." Mutoh Recommended Media Materials For Toucan The Mutoh Toucan Recommended Materials list was compiled by testing performed at Mutoh America using the Mutoh Toucan 64"and 87" printers and Mutoh inks. Mutoh provides these recommendations to give our customers a selection of materials that should produce good results when using the Toucan printer and Mutoh ink. Please note that materials can vary from lot to lot, therefore, Mutoh recommends that customers sample the material and verify that it meets their specific requirements before purchasing them in quantities.
