Newer cutters connect by a USB style connector, even though the protocol is not US>

On legacy cutters,  the PC it will connect to either the 25 pin or 9 pin shaped connectors that have pins sticking out of them on the back of your computer.   The most user guides have a pin out diagram but a 'standard' "null modem" cable will work nicely.  Always buy one that has 25 pin connectors on both ends and if necessary use a standard mouse serial adapter to step the 25 connector down to the 9 pin connector.   Some Mutoh plotters may have a Centronics interface card in them and they can then be connected to any LPT port on a PC and utilize a standard parallel cable.

On the Mac it will connect to either the modem or printer ports and a special cable is required.  You will need to purchase a cable which is specific for the computer on which you wish to use it.

One source is 'Connect-It' Cable, call 1-800-627-3901.   Specify the plotter model and the computer.
