This section describes how to move or transport the printer.

6.4.1 Moving the printer

This sub-section describes how to move the printer.

Move the printer maintaining a horizontal position.
Do not slant the printer, prop it against a wall or turn it upside down.
There is a possibility that ink inside the printer may leak.
Moreover, normal operation after shifting (to these positions) cannot be guaranteed.

(1) Preparation before moving

When using the dedicated stands, follow the procedure below to move the printer.

1Dispose of waste fluid.

2Make sure that the printer is turned OFF.
3Check that the butterfly bolts (2) attaching the stand and the printer are not loosen.
4Check that the printer head is in the rightmost position.
5Bind the CR belt in the center section of the printer by fastening the CR belt clip around it.

6Remove the scroller.
7Remove all the cables, such as the power cable.
8Release the lock of the caster and transfer it.
The casters supplied with the dedicated stand are manufactured for little movement in flat indoor areas, not for transporting equipment.
When moving the printer outdoors in places with big step differences, move the stand and printer separately.

(2) Reinstalling

After moving the printer, follow the procedure below to set it ready for use.

1Select a suitable place for installation.

2Move and install the printer to the location.
3Check the butterfly bolts (2) fixing the stand and the printer are not loosen when using a dedicated stand.
4Attach cables, such as the power cable.

5Perform Nozzle check, and then confirm that there is no clogging in the print head.

6.4.2 Transporting the printer

When transporting the printer, it is necessary to pack in the same condition as purchased using protective and packing materials to protect the printer from vibration and shocks.

When transporting the printer, consult the MUTOH product dealer at your point of purchase.
