This section explains about names and functions of each part.

2.2.1 Front section

It is the lever for fixing or releasing the media.

Front cover
Used for protecting an user from coming in contact with the driving mechanism during the printer operation. Opened and closed when media is set or jammed. It is normally closed.

Waste fluid box
Used for collecting waste ink discharged from the printer.

Stand
Used when installing the printer on level floor.

Book holder
Quick reference manual etc. can be stored here.

Media guide
Used for feeding media smoothly when the media is set or printed.
The heater (after heater) to dry ink is installed.

Media cut groove
Used to cut media straight.

Pressurizing lever
It is installed inside of the front cover.
Press and hold the media when printing.

Platen
It is installed inside of the front cover.
The heater (platen heater) to dry ink is installed.

2.2.3 Operation panel

Used for setting operation conditions, display of printer status and various functions.
Names of each operation key and status display along with the functions are explained.

(1) Operation keys

The operation keys are assigned with different functions and names depending on printer status (Normal or Setup menu display). For details on printer status, refer to "2.3 Printer status".

Changes to Setup menu.
Shifts from Setup menu display to Normal.

[Enter] key

The menu to set is selected and it shifts to the next hierarchy.
The value is determined and saved.
[Cleaning] key
Press and hold this key for two seconds or more to clean the print head.

[Cancel] key
When printing:
Forcefully terminates printing and deletes one file of the remaining data.
When receiving or analyzing:
Deletes data that are already received and analyzed and ignore one file of the subsequent receiving data.
Ink dry timer wait:
Releases ink dry timer wait and eject media.
Returns to the previous menu hierarchy. Change in the setup value becomes invalid.
Shifts from Setup menu display to Normal.

The following menu changes the set value.

Press and hold this key for two seconds or more to perform Nozzle Check printing.

[>] key
Sets Cleaning Mode.
The lamp of Cleaning Mode that you set lights up in green.
Moves the menu down a level in the directory tree.

[Backward↑] key
Media is fed in reverse direction.

[+] key

Changes the menu display to the forward direction.
The value is changed to forward direction.
The value is increased during numerical input.

[Forward↓] key
Media is fed in the forward direction.

[–] key

Changes the menu display to the backward direction.
The value is changed to reverse direction.
The value is decreased during numerical input.

[Power] key
Turns the printer ON or OFF.
