Printing with high printing rate or using strongly-curved media can cause print heads to rub.
Changing the head height may allow you to avoid head rub.
Follow the procedure below to change the head height.

The accuracy of media feeding may be improved with the following methods.

4.2.6.1 Procedure for the media feed compensation value
| 1 | Display the Media feed compensation menu on the operation panel.

| 2 | Performs initial adjust print.

| 3 | Measure the distance between the two pluses in the initial adjustment print using a ruler. |
| 4 | Set up Initial Adjust Change.

| 5 | Perform Confirm Print.

| 6 | Measure the distance between the two pluses in the confirmation adjustment print using a ruler. Then, confirm that the distance matches the feeding length when printing.

| 7 | Perform Micro adjustment printing.

4.2.6.2 How to fix the media firmly
| 1 | Load the roll media to the printer. |
| 2 | Lower the media loading lever.

| 3 | Adjust the Media feed compensation value again. |
4.2.7 Installing media holder plates
Variations in quality and use conditions can cause the edges of the media to curl, resulting in damage to the media by the print head surface.
To prevent this, use the media holder plates to reduce the amount of curling in the media.
Follow the procedure below to install the media holder plates.
| 1 | Display the Side margin menu on the operation panel.

| 2 | Set up the margins (side margins) to 10 mm while printing.
|
| 3 | Set the media so that the edge of the roll media origin side is placed more than 40 mm from the media loading mark.
|
| 4 | Set the media holder plates by sliding them from both sides of the platen.
|
| 5 | After installing the media holder plates, make sure that they do not interfere with the media as it is fed through the printer.
|
| 6 | If the plates are not used, return the plates to their initial positions as shown in the following figure.
