Bay Reprographic Supply
Bay Reprographic Supply, a California based distributor of large format
imaging hardware, has been in business since 1975. Beginning in the
blueprinting industry 26 years ago, Bay Reprographic Supply has evolved
into a machine sales and supply distributor. Today, Bay Reprographic
Supply offers a full line of large format imaging hardware, including:
printers, laminators, copiers, multi-function digital systems, scanners,
software and supplies. Offering top of the line products as well as
maintenance and repair, customer service, supplies, and training, Bay
Reprographic Supply is dedicated to helping their customers achieve the
highest performance from their products. “We pride ourselves in that we
not only sell machines and supplies, but we also offer long-term support,”
states Todd Turner, Sales Manager at Bay Reprographic Supply.
With a strong background in color printing, Bay Reprographic’s
specialization in color oriented, large format printing sets them apart
from other resellers. “Since we come from a color background,” Elaine
Burke, Sales Associate at Bay Reprographic Supply explained, “we have a
very diverse client base.” Among this varied market are photographers,
fine artists, architects, trade show companies, sign manufactures and many
large corporations.
Bay Reprographic Supply has mainly concentrated on Mutoh’s line of solvent
printers, specifically the Falcon II Outdoor and the Toucan. “We are
finding the main reason consumers are choosing Mutoh solvent printers is
because of the low cost of out-put,” Burke said. “Since the Mutoh
eco-solvent-based inks allow printing on a wide variety of inexpensive,
uncoated media, the cost of out-put is about half of the cost of using ink
jet products. As a result, you are starting to see a lot more of the
outdoor sign market using Mutoh because they do not have to laminate
unless it is in a high abrasion area.”
Burke shared many benefits of the Mutoh Falcon II Outdoor. “It is one of
the only printers that has four heaters,” Burke explained. “The printer
with the right profile creates a product that is dry when it comes off the
printer. This is a critical issue when you are trying to do a large of
volume of work. The fact that Mutoh produces dry prints is a huge plus.”
Burke also noted the minimal daily maintenance and the ability to print on
reflective materials as additional benefits of the Mutoh Falcon II
Outdoor.
“The response to the Mutoh line has been very positive,” Burke noted. “In
fact, one of our clients has increased their productivity by 75 percent
since purchasing the Falcon II Outdoor. Now they are able to do everything
on their Mutoh equipment. It is a one shot process and the product is out
the door,” Burke explained. “They have been so happy with the Falcon II
Outdoor, they are thinking about purchasing the Toucan flatbed printer as
well.”
