![]() Cutter Will Not Plot, Correctly In this case when you send a file, the Cutter immediately displays an error, (some models also beep) and it may begin to plot but it is plotting something you did not send to the cutter. Possible causes: The communications parameters (meaning that the baud rate, number of data bits, parity, stop bits and handshaking) of the computer's serial port do not match those of the Cutter. If you are in Windows, make sure that the Windows port settings (in the Windows Control Panel) match the way the communications parameters have been set on the Cutter's display (see Cutter manual for details). Note: Communications parameters are not applicable if the Cutter is plugged into a parallel (printer) port. Note: Many sign cutting software applications allow port configuration from within their own port setup utility. The language of the file being sent to the Cutter does not match the language to which the Cutter is set. For example if the file is in HP-GL, then the Cutter must be set to MH-GL (Mutoh's emulation of HP-GL), so the Cutter can understand the file. Likewise if the file is in HP-GL/2, then the Cutter must be set to MH-GL/2 (Mutoh's emulation of HP-GL/2). Note: All current sign cutting softwre applications use HPGL/2 as the language for their drivers. Many however, refer to the language as HPGL. HPGL is the older language prior to HPGL/2. Note: Always use the driver provided by your sign cutting software application. Be aware that the file language depends on the Cutter driver software being used. Most of the popular CAS packages contain specific Mutoh Cutter drivers, please use these when available. If not, use the HPGL or HPGL/2 driver, though these types of drivers may not work since they may not have the 'offset' factor builtinto them. Mutoh has never offered a generic Cutter driver. |
