Jagged Looking Cuts
Sometimes vinyl or other foreign material become lodged in the knife holder cavity preventing the cutting blade from swiveling freely, resulting in a jagged looking cut. To fix this problem, remove the knife holder cap and clean out any foreign matter that has gathered there. This should be done on a daily basis or when cut quality is suddenly impaired. If you have an SC (or an XPC with the sheet-off option) be sure to inspect the sheet-off knife for this condition as well.

Note:  The knifeholder as well as the knife blade are consumables so after some time it may be recessary to replace both items.  If foreign material is allowed to accumulate at the tip of the knifeholder it won't be long before debris gets into the bearing and knifeholder replacement will be necessary.  A dull blade my be OK for using with large characters but will not give the fine cutting accuracy required for detail cuts.
